Staff Site Reliability Engineer

Role Overview:

• Provide senior technical leadership for the reliability, availability, and performance of critical cloud infrastructure in a Canadian regulated environment.
• Own ambiguous, multi-system reliability problems and influence technical architecture, operational standards, and engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical incident response, root cause analysis, and systemic corrective actions across services and teams.
• Design and implement automation with Bash, Python, JavaScript, Ansible, and Puppet to eliminate operational toil.
• Drive improvements to Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Linux, GCP, networking, monitoring, and observability.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus deep Linux, cloud, and Kubernetes expertise.
• Advanced scripting, configuration management, database, and networking skills, with experience mentoring engineers.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a focus on reliability engineering best practices.

Additional Information:

• Requires physical presence in Canada and ability to obtain Canadian government Reliability Status for Protected B environments.
• Shifts cover day, swing, or overnight schedules as part of a 24x5 operation, with flexible or remote work personas.
