CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Senior 3Cs Engineer to focus on implementation and fine-tuning the systems for camera, player movement, and control on Project Sirius – an original video game combining beloved aspects of The Witcher world with immersive multiplayer gameplay. Our ideal candidate is able to work across disciplines with design, art, and other engineers in implementing high-fidelity gameplay. Most importantly, you care deeply for the player, understand what motivates and inspires them, and know how to build systems that fulfill those needs.
Focusing on the 3Cs of Character, Camera, and Controls, the person in this role will work closely with designers, animators, and other engineers on system prototyping and implementation, ensuring the systems built meet the project code standards. Develop and implement systems in-engine in a multiplayer environment, using C++ and Blueprints. Communicate and collaborate across departments as it pertains to 3Cs systems: work closely with gameplay design and engineers, as well as production in managing the prioritization, implementation, and scope of the game’s systems as they pertain to camera, controls, and character. Collaborate across disciplines in achieving the overall vision of the game. Solicit and incorporate feedback from team members regarding existing systems.
Experience in creating compelling and innovative 3Cs systems in professional 3rd person, multiplayer games, including but not limited to AAA projects. Thorough understanding of core 3C concepts such as camera behaviors, state machines, character movement systems, animations, and controls accessibility, including support for a range of input devices and player needs (e.g., remapping, sensitivity, motor/cognitive accommodations), and how to implement them in a multiplayer game to achieve the highest fidelity for all clients. The ability to communicate fluently with engineering, art, narrative, and production teams.
