Newsroom Lead

The primary duty of a Business Wire Newsroom Lead is demonstrating effective communication and leadership skills while managing a newsroom operations team, in addition to performing general editorial duties. You will assume full responsibility for a team, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently including regular sweeps to make sure no items are pending and fall through the cracks, such as emails, messages or monitoring tasks; assigning press releases and completing quality checks on orders. You will also serve as a main point of contact in the handling of high-profile projects and prioritize work load in the newsroom. You will also coordinate recruiting, onboarding and training of new editors; oversee ongoing training of experienced editors as needed. Effectively evaluate the day-to-day performance of direct reports and communicate with fellow team leads in order to stay informed on current pending releases, issues, etc.
