Responsibilities:
- Adheres to ethical coding standards and stays updated on guidelines and payer requirements.
- Monitors coding work queues for productivity and turnaround, communicating trends to management.
- Collaborates with financial and compliance teams to resolve coding issues impacting reimbursement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of coding experience in inpatient or outpatient settings with RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC credential.
- Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and PCS coding, plus reimbursement methodologies like DRG.
- Proficiency in EHR and coding systems such as Care Connect, with strong mentoring and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
- This is a sedentary role involving mostly sitting with occasional walking or standing.
- The position supports departmental coverage needs through training and cross-training initiatives.
