Position Responsibilities:

  • Support the Inyo National Forest archaeologist with desktop reviews following INF and SCE protocol.
  • Ensure consistency with the Master Special Use Permit Operations and Maintenance Plan and Region 5 Programmatic Agreement.
  • Provide recommendations to INF Heritage Program Manager for heritage resource concurrence.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate with 2 years of relevant archaeological fieldwork experience in California.
  • Valid Driver's License with good driving record; US Citizenship required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's in Anthropology with 15 semester hours of archaeology and field school.

Work Environment:

  • Part-time, on-call position based in Los Angeles, CA with remote work flexibility.
  • Requires access to confidential GIS data and USFS-imaged computer.
  • Travel may be required for fieldwork.
