Remote Engineering Manager (Algorithms Team) (m/f/d)

About the Role:

• As Engineering Manager for the Algorithms team, you lead the team behind RoomPriceGenie's core pricing and forecasting engine.
• You focus on team delivery, people growth, and connection to product goals, while staying technically credible through design and code review.
• The role also involves driving technical improvements at the Product and Engineering department level.

Responsibilities:

• Build and lead a team of 4 engineers across pricing algorithms, forecasting, and data pipelines, ensuring reliable delivery and operational health.
• Grow your people through 1:1s, feedback, and career development, and hire to keep the team balanced.
• Partner with Product to challenge and shape what gets built, using data to guide prioritization and balance velocity with technical sustainability.

Requirements:

• Strong software engineering background with production system experience, ideally in backend and data-intensive or algorithmic domains.
• At least 5 years of experience with several years managing engineers, including performance management.
• Technically credible in Python/Django stack with exposure to Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, and forecasting or data engineering is a strong plus.
