Senior Editor

The Athletic is seeking a Senior Editor for its NFL desk. This is a senior role in a fast-paced environment involved in strategic planning and coordination of NFL video, identifying of stories that will benefit from video, and brainstorming for new ideas. This role is 100% remote for candidates currently residing in the United States or Canada. Responsibilities include attending NFL editorial meetings and video meetings to be informed of what is coming and suggest new ideas. Coordinate video assignments with writers, editors and video producers. Add video assets to stories and the feed. Plan for tentpole events on the NFL calendar. Work to bring a distinctive, compelling, and authentic voice to all digital media products. Maintain an understanding and proficiency of subscription and engagement metrics.
