Lead Health Information Specialist

This role involves receiving and processing patient health information requests according to company and facility policies, maintaining confidentiality, and staying current with relevant software. Responsibilities include managing patient health records, ensuring HIPAA compliance, preparing and organizing patient charts, and responding to record requests from internal and external sources. The specialist will also answer inbound/outbound calls, assist with administrative duties, train associates, generate reports, and participate in project teams. Serving in a lead role, this position assists with staff questions, new hire training, and quality assurance tasks, while also keeping senior leadership informed of issues, opportunities, and challenges.
