Lead Software Engineer, RoR

Technical Leadership & Platform Evolution:

• Serve as a hands-on technical lead for evolving the Ruby on Rails platform toward a scalable, multi-tenant SaaS model, balancing long-term architectural direction with near-term delivery.
• Design and review system architectures with a focus on scalability, reliability, and tenant isolation, while optimizing application performance and infrastructure utilization.

DevOps & Operational Excellence:

• Partner closely with DevOps and engineering teams to identify and remediate broken or inefficient processes, tooling gaps, and handoffs that slow delivery or increase risk.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and production readiness through better monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident response practices, including participation in on-call rotations.

Engineering Standards & Collaboration:

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested Rails code while setting technical standards for the team and mentoring engineers on cloud-native development and DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and Engineering Leadership to align technical execution with business priorities and drive the resolution of complex production issues.

Required Qualifications & Culture:

• 7+ years of experience building and operating production Ruby on Rails applications, with strong hands-on AWS and Kubernetes experience, a DevOps mindset, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• The role requires a builder and fixer who is comfortable in Agile environments, excels in communication, and is willing to explore AI tools responsibly to enhance productivity and innovation.
