Job Description
The American Institutes for Research (AIR) is seeking a highly skilled Virtual Event Consultant to support the Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) Data, Learning, and Communications Hub (the Hub). The Virtual Event Consultant will support the planning, development, and execution of a monthly virtual event series focused on global food security. The ideal independent consultant has experience in virtual event production and demonstrated success managing events that engage diverse, global audiences.
Scope of work includes ensuring high-quality development and execution of monthly virtual events. Responsibilities include leading the end-to-end production of a monthly virtual event series, collaborating with stakeholders to develop event format, timelines, and technical requirements, and managing relationships with vendors.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating scheduling, ensuring events are culturally sensitive and accessible, and overseeing post-event activities. Up to 5 days (40 hours) per month will be required. Qualifications include a Masterβs degree and 6 years of experience or a Bachelorβs degree and 8 years of experience, along with past experience with the FEWS NET project.
