Archaeological Technician

AECOM is seeking multiple on-call Archaeological Technicians to join our Cultural Services team. This remote based role will ideally be based in Colorado, Ohio, Kansas, Wisconsin, Minnesota or Michigan, but can be based within the U.S., as travel will be required. The Archaeology Technicians will support fieldwork on projects throughout the Midwest with opportunities for travel throughout the U.S. The Archaeological Technician primarily performs fieldwork under the supervision of a Crew Chief, Field Director and/or Principal Investigator. Responsibilities include survey, site recordation, site testing and evaluations, monitoring, and data recovery. Manual labor including excavation with shovels is required. Assist with mapping responsibilities in the field, including collection of GPS data using Trimble units. Identification and documentation of precontact and historical sites and artifacts, as well as technical research and writing for reporting efforts will be expected.
