Core Responsibilities:
- Create and deliver content to NBC affiliates, the NBC News Group, and international clients via the Orbit distribution platform.
- Assign stories to writers, advertise stories, and review for editorial accuracy in collaboration with the newsgathering team.
Additional Duties:
- Take editorial lead on political and election coverage, assisting the DC bureau with daily package offers including logging and gathering elements.
- Respond quickly to breaking news and be available to work on-call, during weekends, nights, holidays, and flexible hours.
Qualifications & Environment:
- Requires 10+ years of experience as a local or network news producer/writer, a Bachelor's degree in journalism or communications, and strong editorial judgment.
- Must work calmly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and demonstrate a strong work ethic and organizational skills.
