Join Lewis Brisbois' General Liability Practice as an attorney, where you will handle all phases of insurance defense litigation, including case management, motion practice, discovery, hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials. The ideal candidate should have strong research and writing skills and at least three to ten years of experience. Those with substantive litigation experience and excellent skills in any litigation arena are also welcome to apply.

Defend lawsuits filed in New Jersey courts and other first party insurance defense by researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda. This role includes rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department. You will also prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, to include depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath, and defending by trial or dispositive hearing, all matters assigned, as applicable

Develop a case theme that is more compelling than any plaintiff ploy for sympathy or anger, independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs and trials, and provide leadership and direction with respect to less experienced attorneys. The candidate will need to manage complex cases, develop winning defense strategies, and lead litigation teams.

This role is ideal for a seasoned trial attorney who thrives in high-stakes litigation and is ready to lead trial teams, develop case strategies, and deliver exceptional courtroom advocacy. The Senior Counsel will lead and manage complex, high-exposure cases from inception through resolution and serve as lead trial counsel in significant litigation matters.
