Leveraging 7+ years of experience towards the research, architecture, design, and development of class leading disaggregated block storage for DigitalOcean’s compute products. Help design and lead a multi-year technical roadmap balancing short and long-term investments. Collaborate with a motivated team of peers through key technical decision making.

You will qualify and validate hardware utilized across all DigitalOcean products and components. You will be a part of a team of engineers who have already paved the way for the many tens of thousands of servers in our infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be eager to face new challenges as DigitalOcean continues to scale its data center footprint and explore new technologies.

As a key member of our fleet performance team, you will optimize and enhance core system performance, ensuring our products consistently exceed customer expectations. You will be responsible for ensuring performance metrics are both accurate and easily accessible to our users, empowering them with transparent insights into our systems' capabilities and efficiency.

Systems Engineering provides infrastructure and related services to the rest of the business, increasing focus on software-defined infrastructure and adopting new methods and technologies. Global teams need an architect to provide technical oversight, thought leadership, an example for our rising stars to follow, and an information conduit to leaders in other geos. This position offers high work-product visibility, access to leadership and senior technical staff, substantial breadth of technical responsibility, and the opportunity to shape the skills growth of other engineers.
