As a backend engineer on Semgrep’s Code team, you’ll build user facing security tools to help people secure the software their developers are writing. Whether it’s through writing tooling to tailor Semgrep to our customers unique codebases, prioritizing customer findings to ensure they see the most actionable things first, or enabling developers to fix findings directly in the IDE workflows before a security ticket is even created.
Lead the group responsible for building and scaling the core technology that powers Semgrep Code — their flagship static analysis product. Your team’s mission is to make deep, precise, and fast static analysis accessible to every developer, bringing security-grade code understanding into their daily workflows without friction. You’ll help your team design and deliver the underlying systems that make this possible: high-performance analysis engines, smart pattern matching, and language-agnostic rule infrastructure that keeps Semgrep both fast and powerful.
As a member of the Semgrep Analysis Foundations team, you’ll own the code analysis that underlies our products, doing whatever is needed to make it work seamlessly for our users. You’ll help Semgrep scan ever-larger repositories, run in environments ranging from continuous integration containers to developer IDEs, understand the semantics of a wide range of programming languages, and build for different operating systems.
As a program analysis engineer working on Semgrep’s Code product, the candidate will build user facing security tools to help people secure the software their developers are writing, expand Semgrep’s static analysis capabilities to new languages, speed up the engine to find new vulnerabilities faster, and add new analysis features to better catch the vulnerabilities customers care about.
