Job Description
Apex Clean Energy is looking for a Director of Federal Affairs to bolster its Government Affairs team. This role involves leading policy and regulatory advocacy at the federal level, contributing to the growth of clean energy initiatives.
The Director will identify, shape, and implement strategic actions supporting Apex projects and company objectives, focusing on clean energy taxation, federal permitting, and technology procurement. Representing Apex at industry events, with Congress, and within federal venues is a key responsibility. Building relationships with agencies like FERC, DOI, and DOE, as well as relevant Congressional offices, is essential. The role includes leadership in Apex's Political Action Committee, providing strategic guidance to senior leadership on federal policy developments.
Candidates should have significant experience in federal government relations or public policy, a strong understanding of legislative processes, and excellent communication skills. The role requires independent work, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The position is remote, ideally located near Washington, D.C., with occasional travel to Charlottesville, VA.
