The ideal candidate will enhance internal capacity and assist the service desk in achieving quicker resolutions, demonstrating advanced technical skills in a service desk setting. The position requires the ability to mentor and support junior team members, acting as the main technical escalation point for the team and contributing to project deployments. It involves cybersecurity stack deployment, automation of tasks, and migration of customer infrastructure services to Azure. Troubleshooting and securing virtual desktops, documenting systems, and handing over to the service desk for BAU services are also key. The responsibilities include understanding business line applications, resolving performance issues, and optimising systems in Azure. Strong understanding of Entra ID, Azure and MS365 management is essential. The candidate must understand and be able to deploy best practice security policies and have a sound understanding of application control, including ThreatLocker and DNS filtering. Leveraging quieter periods to improve systems or processes and collaborating in a small, close-knit team are also important aspects of the role. The role involves providing occasional backup service desk support, answering calls, and providing support as required.
