Principal AI Engineer

About the Role:

• Own the architecture for AI capabilities across HotDocs, including model management, LLM orchestration, and retrieval strategy.
• Take new AI-powered features from prototype to enterprise production, writing clean code in .NET Core and React.
• Drive AI adoption across the software development lifecycle, from coding assistants to automated evaluation.

About You:

• A technical leader who sets direction and builds consensus across teams, communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical peers.
• An AI practitioner who has shipped AI features to real users and distinguishes genuine capability from hype.
• Evidence-led, caring about maintainable code, testing, and measurable outcomes for AI systems.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 12+ years of professional software development experience, including a principal, lead, or staff-level role.
• Strong .NET Core (C#) and React (TypeScript) skills in a hands-on engineering capacity.
• Demonstrable experience designing and shipping production AI solutions, including LLM integration, RAG, and agentic systems.
