What you'll do in the first 3 months:
- Ship a meaningful feature with the team and earn their hardest technical questions.
- Identify bottlenecks that make features take three weeks instead of one and fix them through tooling, review, or team structure.
- Take over technical hiring and build a process that runs without oversight.
What the role looks like beyond:
- Own how the team builds: testing, code review, architecture, and organization.
- Ship every week on the biggest projects and lead 1:1s and growth conversations as the team grows.
- Drive speed, quality, and AI integration in both craft and management.
What we're looking for:
- 8+ years as a senior/staff engineer with 1+ years as a tech lead for a team of 3+.
- Experience shipping AI features to production and leading system design.
- Strong OOP fundamentals with Java Spring Boot, Hibernate, and SQL optimisation.
