As an Engineering Manager, lead the Web Workflows team, requiring a blend of technical understanding of frontend and web infrastructure, excellent people management skills, and a deep empathy for developer pain points. You'll be working alongside other Engineering Managers who lead Platform Workflows and Backend Workflows, jointly aligning on strategy, resourcing, and roadmap cohesion across the infra stack.
This role involves leading a team of 7 engineers improving web developer workflows, tools, and infrastructure at scale, driving strategy and execution to reduce friction for frontend developers across Canva, and collaborating with Platform and Backend Workflow teams to ensure a cohesive DevEx journey. Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, managing team rituals, supporting individual growth and performance, and overseeing high-impact projects like improving TypeScript IDE performance and dev environment stability.
The Web Workflows team sits within Canva’s Developer Experience group, enabling frontend developers to build and ship with speed, stability, and joy by owning the tools, infrastructure, and environments that support hundreds of product engineers.
