We’re seeking a collaborative Senior Engineer for a team working on key initiatives, where you'll work with stakeholders and engineers to design and implement solutions that balance quality, cost, time, and maintainability. You'll collaborate with the team and Lead Engineer to prioritise work, simplify solutions, and deliver business value. Additionally, you'll mentor engineers, delegate tasks to empower the team, and support the growth of yourself and others.

Lead a cross-functional team to make the design system more intuitive, empowering, and efficient. Define goals and the technical roadmap. Drive exploration of strategic opportunities, including AI-powered workflows. Ensure the team is happy, healthy, high-functioning, and impactful in delivering on goals. Conduct regular 1:1s to provide technical direction, mentorship, and actionable feedback to engineers.

As an Engineer in this team, you will design, develop, and deploy robust solutions through hands-on software development, working closely with team leads, designers, and product managers to deliver impactful features and experiments to customers worldwide. You will autonomously develop solutions and clearly articulate technical concepts to various stakeholders, including non-technical audiences. Additionally, you will mentor teammates and advocate proactively for engineering needs.

Design, develop, and deploy solutions through hands-on software development, working closely with leads, designers, and product managers to deliver features and experiments to customers worldwide. Thoughtfully adopt AI into the workflow and solutions to maximise efficiency and scale, primarily working on web frontend using TypeScript. Facilitate knowledge sharing and effectively advocating for engineering needs to non-technical team members within the group, driving initiative and ownership in achieving goals and improving processes.

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. This role is focused on architecting and implementing Timeline 2.0 from scratch, delivering performant, intuitive editing experiences, and collaborating with design and product to solve challenging UX problems. You will be leveraging cutting-edge tech including TypeScript, WebGL, WebGPU, Web Assembly, and web workers and building seamless integrations across Canva’s video ecosystem.

Enhance the security and availability of hosted authentication providers for Octopus Cloud instances. You'll contribute to projects in the wider Identity and Access Management space. As a Software Engineer you will apply your software engineering expertise to their mission. This is a remote role based in Australia or New Zealand.

This role focuses on building video-first, AI-powered creation flows tailored for social media, shipping new features like Text to Speech, Voiceover, and Image to Video tools, enhancing Camera Roll capabilities to inspire content creation, optimising performance and usability across devices using the MobileX stack, collaborating with designers, PMs, and engineers, and contributing to front-end best practices.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Performance Monitoring team, you’ll be the specialist who turns complex telemetry into tangible speed for millions of designers worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your Software Engineering mindset and skills in conjunctions with DevOps, SRE, or similar knowledge to solving infrastructure problems, such as managing and optimising various Azure resources, ensuring that the cloud-based infrastructure scales efficiently and remains reliable. You will act as the point person for monitoring the health of this infrastructure, promptly resolving issues and aiming to guarantee minimal downtime.

Build systems to generate and edit designs, working closely with ML engineers, backend engineers, frontend engineers, designers, and PMs. Own the full lifecycle of features from design docs and stakeholder alignment through implementation, testing, and maintenance. Stay across state-of-the-art advancements in deep learning and generative AI. Facilitate knowledge sharing and advocating for engineering needs with non-technical stakeholders.
