Responsibilities:
- Utilizes coding expertise to review medical records and abstract/code physician services and diagnoses.
- Follows official guidelines to assign CPT, ICD10 codes and modifiers with at least 95% accuracy.
- Ensures charges are captured and provides documentation feedback to physicians.
Training & Communication:
- Trains physicians and staff regarding documentation, billing and coding.
- Reviews and communicates new or revised billing and coding guidelines.
- Attends meetings, communicates information, and resolves pre-accounts receivable edits.
Collaboration & Problem-Solving:
- Collaborates with Patient Accounting and PB Billing to provide coding expertise.
- Acts as a key point person for Revenue Cycle staff, obtaining documentation and appealing denials.
- Meets coding productivity and quality standards.
