Job Description

The Bronx Defenders (BxD) seeks a passionate immigration attorney with a commitment to public defense to fill a position as a Temporary/Remote Supervising Attorney in our Immigration Practice. The Supervising Attorney will report to the Deputy Director of the Immigration Practice with responsibilities including client representation, attorney supervision, performance evaluations and practice leadership. Client Representation includes representing a reduced number of noncitizens on complex immigration matters. Attorney Supervision includes conferencing cases with attorney supervisees, providing feedback on written work, and assisting with hearing preparation. Evaluation responsibilities involve conducting performance evaluations and providing continual feedback. Leadership responsibilities involve attending practice leadership team meetings and leading internal trainings. Candidates must have at least three (3) years of immigration law experience, preferably in a criminal-immigration practice and a license to practice law in New York or be eligible to become licensed. Salary is commensurate with experience with a salary range between $106,492 -$115,391 for candidates with 3-6 years of directly relevant experience.
