Software Development Engineer - Mobile & Commerce (Apprentice)

About the Role:

• We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test Apprentice to join our Quality Engineering function for a structured 12-month apprenticeship.
• Apprentices will work on real testing and automation initiatives that directly contribute to product quality, supported by mentorship, technical guidance, and structured learning throughout the programme.

Programme Details:

• Work Type: Apprenticeship, Department: Engineering, Sub Department: SDET, Duration: 12 months.
• Monthly Stipend: 50,000 INR, Location: Remote - India, Programme Start: September 2026.
• Responsibilities vary by team: from domain services in Go to payments infrastructure and document rendering.

Requirements:

• Completed term in a recognized open source mentorship or contribution program with merged work in a real project.
• Working fluency in Go or demonstrated depth in another systems language, and comfort with distributed systems fundamentals.
• Habit of writing design docs and commit messages that explain why, and a graduation timeline that allows full-time conversion.

What the six months look like:

• Weeks 1–3: Environment, codebase tour, and a scoped starter charter that touches production.
• Weeks 4–16: Your primary charter — design, build, instrument, and ship one substantial piece of the platform.
• Weeks 17–24: Hardening, migration, and handoff — with conversion conversations beginning around week 18.
