Commercial Counsel

Responsibilities:

1. Legal Agreement Management

• Own complex agreements end-to-end, including those for payments, money movement, and banking partnerships.
• Build and manage legal playbooks and templates that scale to maintain speed and quality.
• Negotiate with high-growth fintechs and enterprise customers, aligning deals with commercial and regulatory needs.

2. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Develop strong partnerships with Sales, Business, Risk, and Compliance teams to understand goals and risk tolerance.
• Expand into additional legal areas, supporting research, product advice, exam management, and corporate governance.
• Help level up Legal operations by improving agreements, policies, and processes to support company growth.

3. Role Success Factors

• Requires 5+ years as a practicing lawyer, with law firm experience in technology transactions or fintech preferred.
• Must have ability to independently draft and negotiate commercial agreements with strong contract law understanding.
• Comfort with project management, deadlines, and juggling multiple initiatives for various stakeholders is essential.
