About the Role:
- You will sit on the architecture board, advising on best practices and reviewing current technologies.
- Drive technical strategy within your teams and keep software deliverables aligned to architectural standards.
- Assess technical feasibility of high-level backlog items and present findings to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define components and modules following best architecture principles, including interfaces with internal and external systems.
- Design and contribute highly cohesive, loosely coupled microservices to the existing architecture.
- Research and vet third-party tools and services, and ensure security compliance (PCI, POPIA, GDPR).
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum 7-10+ years of experience, including 2+ years in technical architecture for scalable, high-availability systems.
- Strong software engineering skills in languages like Java, C#, or Python, and experience with microservices and distributed systems.
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts to diverse audiences and document designs using UML standards.
