Supervising Enforcement Counsel

This position may be eligible for remote work for up to 2 days per week, pursuant to the Remote Work Pilot Program. DCWP is seeking a supervising attorney with relevant experience in litigation and issues affecting low-wage workers. Responsibilities include: - Handling a docket of complex cases, including high-impact investigations and litigation before the NYC Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings and in state courts; - Supervising 3-4 attorneys who handle litigation and investigations; - Managing all aspects of litigation, including drafting and arguing motions, taking depositions, preparing for and leading trials and mediations, and negotiating settlements; - Leading special enforcement initiatives related to new OLPS laws, vulnerable worker populations, or high-violation industries; - Contributing to development of internal enforcement policies and procedures; - Handling certain administrative and personnel matters for direct reports. This position is an exciting opportunity to be involved with a growing office working on the next generation of labor laws. The ideal candidate has significant experience in issues affecting low-wage workers and enjoys collaborating with diverse teams, working with both attorneys and non-attorneys, and tackling unique legal and policy questions creatively.
