• Accurately identifies patients and enters required clinical, demographic, and insurance information into the electronic medical record.
• Explains scheduled procedures and patient instructions associated with medical services.

Insurance Verification for Eligibility/Authorization:

• Identifies and selects insurance carriers in the patient medical record for specified dates of services.
• Navigates web-based products to document insurance eligibility, benefit details, and authorization requirements.
• Performs notifications to secure insurance authorizations for medical services and documents them appropriately.

Financial Counseling:

• Educates patients on insurance eligibility, coverage, procedure costs, and financial assistance options using professional negotiation techniques.
• Uses web-based tools to provide charge estimations for inpatient stays or surgical procedures based on patient requests.
• Monitors system work lists for financial counseling follow-up and updates patient accounts with new payer sources.
