About the Role:

  • Experienced editor to run its new rapid-response investigative unit.
  • Manage people, edit copy and guide investigative work.
  • Collaborate, shift gears quickly and juggle numerous projects.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in digital journalism with editorial and personnel management.
  • Mastery of copy editing, story structure, style guidelines and journalistic standards.
  • Expert ability to strengthen stories from inception to publication.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct a staff of writers toward the planning and publication of a significant number of stories each year.
  • Guide the writing and editing process with an emphasis on accuracy, clean copy, strong reporting, clear writing, sharp framing and timely publishing and updating for a wide variety of stories.
  • Work to consistently lift the quality of our stories, to apply our standards and to coach our journalists to be rigorous, nimble and creative in their work.
