Senior Kubernetes Platform Administrator (Remote Opportunity)

Job Summary:

• This role involves leading the engineering, operation, and automation of an enterprise Kubernetes platform on Amazon EKS for a federal healthcare project.
• You will mentor engineers, drive secure-by-default standards, and support FISMA High compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain production Kubernetes clusters with autoscaling and capacity planning using Karpenter.
• Lead networking initiatives with Cilium and Istio, managing service mesh and traffic management.
• Develop and maintain AWS infrastructure via Terraform and implement GitOps workflows with GitHub Actions.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of infrastructure engineering experience, including 5+ years managing production Kubernetes environments.
• Deep expertise in Amazon EKS, Linux, and Kubernetes networking with Cilium and Istio.
• Strong skills in Terraform, AWS, and GitOps; experience mentoring teams and troubleshooting distributed systems.
