Job Description
The admissions counselor will spend at least eighty percent of every shift interacting with a high volume of potential students using various communication methods. The counselor will discover studentsโ educational interests and use applicable databases to provide personalized program offerings, identify potential obstacles to a studentโs ability to pursue their educational goals, and advise students regarding enrollment, transferability, degree programs, and University policies.
The role also involves making admissions recommendations, representing the University at recruitment events, and meeting recruitment goals. The counselor must comply with federal, state, institution, and accreditation policies and maintain accurate records. Additional responsibilities include supporting the Universityโs mission, collaborating with University departments, and assisting other recruitment divisions to meet goals.
