Staff Backend Engineer - Trust & Control Safety Systems

About the Team:

• Builds intelligent safeguards to protect customers and platform from accidental surges and intentional abuse.
• Processes 160M+ events and $4M+ in transactions daily, securing critical workflows like signups, SaaS checkouts, and user management.

Requirements:

• 8+ years building high-scale, mission-critical backend systems with deep expertise in distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with financial systems where code correctness has direct financial impact, such as metering, ledgers, or billing.
• Strong track record of technical leadership through influence, driving architecture for multi-team platforms from design to production.

Preferred Experience:

• Abuse and fraud expertise, including building rules engines or velocity checks at massive scale.
• Hands-on experience with high-throughput tools like Go, Redis (Lua), ClickHouse, and Flink for real-time aggregation.
• Familiarity with ElasticSearch cluster management, multi-tenant indexing, or lifecycle policies.
