Engineering Manager II - Phone Core India Engineering

About the Role:

• We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Phone Core teams, which own the mission-critical foundation of HighLevel's communication stack.
• This group includes CPaaS platform layer, Phone Billing, Trust & Compliance, and phone number provisioning, serving as the substrate for every other channel team.
• The platform handles over 100M+ events daily across 15+ services, and uptime and reliability are paramount.

Responsibilities:

• Own architecture and delivery for the CPaaS platform layer, including scaling decisions for components supporting billions of monthly events.
• Lead Phone Billing end to end: usage metering, rating, idempotency, reconciliation, and audit trails with zero tolerance for errors.
• Drive observability and resilience by evolving monitoring, alerting, and incident response strategies, including financial invariants.

Requirements:

• 9+ years of backend engineering experience with 2+ years of leadership, building fault-tolerant systems at billions of hits or events.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous job processing.
• Experience designing policy- or rules-driven systems that evolve with external requirements, and familiarity with monitoring and SLOs.
