Role Summary:
- PLOS Medicine seeks an Associate Editor to develop and strengthen this influential venue for outstanding research on human health.
- This is a fully remote, 12-month contract role based in the UK.
Responsibilities:
- Guide manuscripts through peer review and oversee editorial decision-making.
- Commission Perspectives, Reviews, and other pieces, and collaborate with external academic editors.
- Engage in outreach, write editorials, and help resolve publication ethics issues.
Qualifications and experience:
- Experience in research or clinical environment, with medical publishing preferred.
- Postgraduate degree required; PhD or MD preferred.
- Highly organized with strong critical assessment, problem-solving, and communication skills.
