Job Description
The Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for performing eligibility verification by entering ticket information into the Vendor system, obtaining verification documents, and uploading them appropriately in the EHR System. They will verify insurance benefits via respective payer websites and calling insurances directly. The specialist ensures patient financial/consent to treat/HIPPA forms are signed and uploaded to the EHR, enters comments in the EMR/RIV tickets, and coordinates with providers to ensure all appropriate insurance documentation is uploaded for accurate benefit/eligibility checks. They will meet daily, weekly and monthly productivity requirements and complete special projects as assigned.
