Director - Database Performance Engineering

What you get to do in this role:

• Lead the Database Performance Engineering organization responsible for driving performance, scalability, and customer experience.
• Build, develop, and scale high-performing engineering teams focused on database performance and scalability.
• Partner with Product Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, and Architecture teams to ensure performance considerations are integrated into the development lifecycle.

Process and Procedures:

• Establish scalable performance engineering practices, standards, and testing methodologies.
• Drive adoption of performance testing frameworks, workload characterization, and capacity planning models.
• Leverage AI-powered tools and production intelligence to accelerate performance analysis and optimization.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience in database engineering, performance engineering, or large-scale SaaS platform operations.
• 8+ years of engineering leadership experience, including leading managers and globally distributed teams.
• Deep expertise in database technologies, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
