Job Description
The Automated Mosaics team is responsible for producing Planet’s Mosaic products and combine image processing and engineering expertise to create spatially and temporally consistent views of Earth at a global scale. Our products are used by the entire range of Planet’s customers, including commercial, civil government, defense and intelligence, research, and nonprofit applications. Our data products are used in applications such as Global Renewables Watch, deforestation monitoring, ecosystem monitoring, and permit enforcement.
As a Software Engineer you will play a key role in maintaining and improving Planet’s Mosaic products, improve the mosaicing algorithm to provide better data for our customers, ensure that data production scales reliably and efficiently to the global scale of our products, and own the systems which decide which data to produce and when.
