Overview:
- OnTrac is seeking a software engineer for a 12-18 month contract supporting a healthcare genomics customer's pipeline team.
- The role focuses on engineering pipelines, not scientific discovery, requiring quick integration and limited ramp-up.
Engagement:
- The contract starts 2 November 2026 and is fully remote within the United States.
- The contractor will work closely with the delivery team and customer stakeholders.
Required Credentials:
- Professional software engineering experience with bioinformatics pipelines is required.
- Hands-on production experience with Python, Bash, and Nextflow is necessary.
Scope and Delivery Expectations:
- Maintain and improve software quality of genomics pipelines in an on-premise HPC environment.
- Automate pipeline operations, provide operational support, and implement integrations with sequencing instruments.
- Support the additional workload from the LIS transition from Soft to Epic Beaker.
