Senior Surety Claims Counsel

The Senior Surety Claims Counsel is responsible for reviewing, investigating, resolving, and negotiating performance bond defaults, payment bond claims, subdivision, and commercial bond claims. This role works a hybrid schedule from any IAT Office Monday through Wednesday (unless fully remote), with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely. Responsibilities include interacting with attorneys for claimants and owners, drafting and negotiating documents, collaborating with underwriters, reviewing schedules and ledgers, supervising outside counsel, recommending reserves, managing litigation, analyzing payment bond claims, and training staff. Qualified candidates must have a JD with 7+ years of relevant Surety Claims or Construction Law experience and possess an insurance adjuster license or the ability to obtain one.
