The Opportunity:
- Build Tempo, the open-source distributed tracing backend behind Grafana Cloud Traces.
- Shift from foundational work to product and operational excellence.
- Evolve Tempo into a platform enabler for next-generation observability products.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead technical initiatives from problem framing through rollout.
- Own the architecture of core Tempo components.
- Mentor engineers and participate in on-call.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- Track record of leading complex, multi-quarter initiatives.
- Deep hands-on experience building distributed data systems.
- Strong software craftsmanship in Go or similar systems languages.
