Staff Data Engineer

Role Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and optimize scaled data infrastructure, serving as a technical lead and mentor within the organization.
• Align team work against strategic business priorities and help define and manage the data roadmap.
• Own data architecture, infrastructure, and platform improvements, driving systems upgrades with a long-term view.

Experience Required:

• 7+ years of data engineering experience with deep expertise in Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, and Python.
• A track record with ambiguous initiatives requiring breaking down complex problems and coordinating across teams.
• Strong technical communication skills to represent work to non-technical leadership and translate business needs into technical strategy.

Company & Team Context:

• This is a remote, individual contributor role reporting directly to the CTO, acting as the most senior data engineer on a team of 3 within a 5-person engineering department.
• The company uses data infrastructure to enable timely, personalized engagement with individuals living with SMI, allowing care teams to focus on critical tasks.
• The data infrastructure is built on Snowflake, DBT (Cloud), Airflow, and Python, with a solid foundation requiring improvements, new features, and automation.
