Backend Engineer

In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing microservices in a distributed deployment environment with an emphasis on containerisation with Docker and K8S. You won’t just be writing simple CRUD applications, but instead will be working on the core logic of complex systems that are accessed millions of times a day. This system was written from scratch about 3 years ago, so you’ll be working with the latest technology. With millions of users a key focus for the platform is that of stability and robustness. Responsibilities include working across a Friday-Tuesday shift pattern (including the weekend), developing highly-scalable mobile internet backends for millions of users, working with Project Managers to determine new features, participating in code reviews, responding to support calls, and participating in team ceremonies.
