Key Responsibilities:

  • Abstract and code surgical procedures from all sections of CPT, crosswalk to ASA codes, and apply appropriate modifiers.
  • Code ICD10, abstract anesthesia times and events, and assign care team providers.
  • Work complex edits and denials, including concurrency and provider time conflicts.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent with 5+ years of complex surgical coding and 4+ years of anesthesia coding.
  • Current CPC certification required; CANPC a plus.
  • Experience with multiple EMRs and documentation types, including handwritten and electronic records.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, and Outlook with ten-key skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate on new projects.

Work Environment:

  • Remote position with day shift hours, requiring a quiet workspace and reliable internet.
