Principal Software Engineer

About the Role:

• This is a rare opportunity to be a founding technical voice on Aura's AI Intelligence Platform.
• The platform unifies data and bridges the gap between AI agents and that data, with security and privacy as foundational pillars.
• You will work primarily in Python and TypeScript on AWS, on systems that serve millions of customers.

What you'll do:

• Design, document, and drive the architectural vision for the platform.
• Own complex, end-to-end initiatives and translate ambiguous product goals into clear technical requirements.
• Build systems that turn intelligence into personalized insights and actions.

What you bring to the table (requirements):

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Expert knowledge of software design, data structures, algorithms, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud technology and judgment to choose the right tools.

It would be great if you also had (preferred):

• Experience building AI/LLM-powered systems in production.
• A strong background in security, privacy engineering, or trust and safety.
• Experience with large-scale data platforms and AWS Infrastructure as Code.
