Responsibilities:
- Respond to SQL Server Agent alerts, severity errors, and critical incidents, diagnosing and resolving production issues promptly.
- Execute weekend maintenance activities, including cumulative updates, index rebuilds, DBCC CHECKDB, and schema changes.
- Investigate performance issues such as tempdb contention, deadlocks, and parameter sniffing, implementing appropriate fixes.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of production support SQL Server DBA experience, with hands-on expertise in SQL Server 2012-2025.
- Strong T-SQL skills, ability to interpret execution plans, and experience with Always On Availability Groups and failover clusters.
- Excellent communication skills for client-facing remote sessions and ticket management.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly rate of $35-$55, part-time 17 hours per week with Saturday primary shift.
- 80 hours (10 days) of PTO annually, plus 401(k) matching and paid training opportunities.
