Volunteer interpreters support refugee newcomers during their first year in Canada.
They facilitate communication in virtual monitoring interviews with World Renew staff.

Key responsibilities:

Offer verbal interpretation in one or more priority languages.
Review interview materials and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Support culturally respectful and accurate communication.

Qualifications:

Fluency in English and at least one relevant language.
Strong listening and communication skills; reliable access to a computer and private location.
Experience with translation, refugees, or settlement services is considered an asset.

Commitment and screening:

Flexible remote scheduling with no minimum commitment required.
Successful volunteers complete reference checks, a vulnerable sector check, and onboarding training.
