Mission and Impact:

  • Lead the design of power architecture from grid to data center load, ensuring systems meet stringent availability and resiliency requirements.
  • Own the technical integration of utility interconnections, substations, distribution systems, and on-site generation assets for high-reliability data centers.
  • Drive the incorporation of distributed energy resources like photovoltaic generation and battery storage to support sustainability goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), short-circuit studies, and reliability assessments for power systems.
  • Define control strategies for dispatch, load-shedding, and grid interaction, and coordinate the integration of DERs with UPS and distribution systems.
  • Lead technical engagement with utilities and interconnection authorities, supporting studies and ensuring compliance with grid requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight during design reviews, factory acceptance tests, commissioning, and energization of assets.

Required Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Power Systems engineering, with 8+ years of experience in power system design for mission-critical or data center environments.
  • Strong expertise in high-reliability substations, protection systems, generator/UPS systems, and DER/microgrid architectures.
  • Proficiency with power system analysis tools and deep understanding of applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate as a technical authority across disciplines and stakeholders.
