Corporate Counsel - Canada

We are seeking a talented Canadian lawyer with an interest in advancing their career in the financial services industry, or who already has a strong foundation in corporate and commercial law, as well as regulatory law. Reporting to our Associate General Counsel, you will draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and be responsible for legal compliance initiatives, corporate governance, and ad-hoc projects related to the company’s insurance operations. You have a knack for providing insightful, thorough, focused, and risk-based legal guidance. Responsibilities include advising on legal risks and mitigation strategies, managing subsidiary governance, drafting contracts, assisting with regulatory compliance, developing training, identifying new legislation, ensuring compliance, supporting stakeholders, and participating in vendor management and cross-functional projects.
