Housekeeping Attendant

The Housekeeping Attendant is accountable to the Manager for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the guest rooms, dorms, and laundry facilities and promoting the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, and fulfilment for all clients, treating everyone with respect and encouraging participation in all tasks. The role involves maintaining premises in a clean and orderly manner, cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms, laundry rooms and dorms, as well as cleaning light fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows and window coverings, floors and carpets by dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sweeping. The attendant also replenishes supplies, moves furniture, changes sheets and replenishes linens, sorts laundry items, and operates laundry machines. Ensuring that all cleaning equipment/materials are maintained in safe manner and reporting any equipment that requires repair to maintenance is essential. The attendant also must wear the appropriate PPE as per Sodexo regulations. Must maintain a friendly contact with clients and respecting their right to choice, dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times, as well as participate in staff meetings and training activities.
