As a Volunteer Medical Specialist with MSF’s Telemedicine Program, you will provide remote medical and clinical support to MSF’s global medical teams on a case-by-case basis. Medical Specialists review and respond to patient cases assigned to them via our secure Telemedicine Platform. Support is provided asynchronously (not in real time), offering maximum flexibility for volunteers.

We’re looking for medicine specialists who live and breathe internal medicine, pharmacology, pathology, clinical diagnostics, medical ethics, human physiology, epidemiology, immunology, and evidence-based medicine. You’ll challenge advanced language models on topics like differential diagnosis, drug interactions, treatment protocols, pathophysiological mechanisms, clinical trial design, public health interventions, and diagnostic imaging interpretation—documenting every failure mode so we can harden model reasoning.

The department offers a full spectrum of radiological services provided by nationally recognized subspecialized radiologists, using some of the most advanced technology and radiology guided therapies available. It is one of the leading radiologic academic centers in the Gulf South.

The Medical Director will provide medical expertise and guidance to the underwriting staff in matters related to risk selection on individual life insurance, long term care, and annuities for impaired lives. They will perform statistical analysis of mortality as needed, case analysis and referrals, and contribute to contestable claim reviews, along with training and developing underwriting staff.
